More people are considering forehead lifting among anti-aging treatments. Why is a procedure associated with middle-aged patients also attracting millennials and Generation Z? Dr. Jang Joon-Chul of GGN Plastic Surgery says it can be effective for people whose narrow distance between the eyes and eyebrows creates a stern impression.
“For someone who wants a softer expression, forehead lifting is one option for increasing the space between the eyes and brows. It may also be recommended for uneven eyebrows. In an endoscopic forehead lift, the aim is to release the forehead tissues under endoscopic guidance and lift the brows. Carefully releasing the firm tissues around the eyebrows without damaging the muscles allows fine adjustment of the height on each side.”

How is forehead lifting performed? Adverse effects are a major concern with beauty and anti-aging treatments. We asked Dr. Jang about both the technique and the risks.
“With an endoscopic forehead lift, a 2 cm incision is made inside the scalp, so the procedure can be performed without an externally visible scar. It can lift a wrinkled forehead while also improving the eye area. The article’s recovery schedule describes suture removal after 10 days, by which point everyday activities may be possible. However, depending on the surgeon’s experience, nerves crossing the forehead could be injured, or lifting only the outer skin could leave a patient less satisfied than expected. Anyone deciding to proceed should first have a thorough consultation with a specialist.”
